The Cowshed's ethos has always been simple; to serve good, honest food in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

From the outset, the idea of 'simple things, done well' has been used throughout The Cowshed Group; both in the development of our menus, and in the renovation of the character-rich buildings our businesses are based in - aiming to create a welcoming and relaxing dining experience for small, intimate groups of family and friends.

The group has continued to evolve and expand since its conception in 2009, and boasts an award winning restaurant, along with our own butchery company, Ruby & White.

THE COWSHED BRISTOL

First opening its doors in 2009, The Cowshed became a welcome addition to the already thriving Bristol food scene, instantly proving to be a firm favourite with the locals.

Based in a renovated Georgian townhouse on Clifton's Whiteladies Road, the restaurant's continuing rise in popularity led to the expansion into the neighbouring Picture House building in October 2013; allowing the opportunity for larger groups of friends and family to enjoy Sunday lunches, birthday meals and special occasions.

RUBY & WHITE

Renowned for their meat dishes, it seemed only natural for The Cowshed to find their own butcher shop to ensure a consistent supply of high quality meat.

The grandson of a farmer, Cowshed owner Adam Denton appreciated that the only way to guarantee the quality and provenance of the meat the restaurant served was to work directly with small, family-run farms - selecting local breeders and producers that specialised in the rearing of native breed livestock.

Teaming up with Master Butcher Dave Kelly, Adam strived to create a welcoming retail environment that held all of the features reminiscent of a traditional butcher's shop; but in a clean, modern and relaxing atmosphere - one suited to the modern consumer.
